There’s a message posted to personal Kinja user blogs now:

“G/O Media, which operates the Kinja platform, will be discontinuing Kinja user blogs. G/O is taking this action due to the anticipated changes to the laws and regulations concerning platform liability for user generated content. Accordingly, any content which you have posted to your Kinja blog will be deleted in the coming weeks, and it will not be accessible after deletion. Should you wish to retain that content, you should make a copy of it for your personal records now. Comments posted to G/O Media’s websites by Kinja users will not be affected by this change.”

It’d be on your PERSONAL blog, supposedly. I haven’t checked my own, but a lot of other Oppos have seen it on theirs now, so I assume mine has it.

Hard to say man. I’m hoping it lives too, but certain backchannel info tells us that it’s looking pretty grim. There’s chat of it on the Discord in the main ‘General’ channel if you wanted to sign up and read back a ways. I’m just reposting it as a lifeboat/staging ground again should something go awry. :/

What do you mean by backchannel info? This is a blow indeed in an already terrible year. Well I started posting to Oppo over a year ago at this point and I do not regret a single moment of it. It’s been real if things devolve here.

I was in the Discord but I never use it. I reset my password so I remember it and I’m there now. I’ll look back through it.

Given the disclaimer for user generated content right there below the banner for Oppo then I'm pretty confident that G/O Media lumps Oppo in with the rest of our personal blogs...

Thanks man...don’t feel you HAVE to post to the Discord if you don’t want to, a lot of folks are just making sure they can get in for updates until we figure out what to do.
